Special Occasion Desserts

Sometimes you’re looking for a dessert that’s a little over the top. That would be these – my favorite desserts for Holidays, Birthdays & Company. I hope you’ll find something you like here; most are a little more complicated than our everyday sweets, a few are drop dead simple and all are scrumptious!

special cakes for celebrations or company

extravagant cupcakes

favorite cheesecakes

elegant endings

frozen desserts

individual chocolate sumpins

special pies & tarts

I’m taking this compilation of recipes over to Fiesta Friday 173, put on this week by the intrepid beach comber, Angie and her two co-hosts: Lindy @ Love In The Kitchen and Paula @ Her Life Is Love. I’m sensing love in the air, this week. It just takes a second to click over and visit and see all the great link-ups.

          1. Me, too! I always think it looks good and sometimes I’m tempted but it so often doesn’t live up to my idea of what I think it should taste like. The exception, I think is this little gourmet store I go to every couple years. THey make swans out of chocolate (different kinds) and fill them with mousse. I feel so special when I buy one of those…

  1. Holy lord you have so many desserts!!! Girl, I need to get on your level, and I am mostly focused on baking for my blog 😂😂😂

BTW your bouche de noel is just so lovely!!!

    1. Thanks loads! I see quite a few on your blog I want to make!! But this is just one of my categories…so there will be more, fair warning!! I love that Bouche de Noel – especially since the cake is chocolate!

  2. Great collection. I’m making cream puffs this weekend. Promised one of the Romanian supply teachers that’s doing a long term at the school I was at Wed, Thurs and Fri that I’ll bring him some on Tues (got an early call) so I can’t back out. 🙂

    1. Oh, I love a good cream puff – and it’s hard to find good ones, anymore, at least here. I have never made one, but they look like quite the labor of love. You’re talking about the ones in the horn shape?

  3. I am dying here! I want to make every one of these, much to the dismay of my scale. Nothing better than an arsenal of special desserts!

    1. Hi Nancy! I’m having to post to create my menu in pictures. It’s kind of fun to see the round up! I see a few I need to remake with better pictures, for one. I’d start with that Toffee Cheesecake or that Frozen Lemon Meringue Dessert if I were you, lol! 🙂 My next dessert menu is going to be Down Home Favorites.
