Obviously, I need to make more coffee cakes! Here are some of my faves.

In the United States, coffee cake generally refers to a sweet cake intended to be eaten with coffee or tea (like tea cake). Coffee cakes, as an accompaniment for coffee, are often single layer, flavored with either fruit or cinnamon, and leavened with either baking soda (or baking powder), which results in a more cake-like texture, or yeast, which results in a more bread-like texture. Ever since I picked up my little cake pan tray, below, I’ve been dying to make something in them. When I came across a pic of Panera’s Strawberry Rhubarb Mini Cakes, the anticipation became an obsession. They were so darling!

Home-Made Hot Fudge Sauce

Of all the ice-cream toppings, I have to confess I like Hot Fudge the best. Nothing else really compares. Caramel is good, Salted Caramel is fantastic and Butterscotch, what can I say? I wouldn’t turn any of them down but Hot Fudge Sauce? That I would seek out!
