I know I’ve been gone for a while (I came down to Atlanta in September to help out my daughter & it took a while to find my feet!) but I’m back. And look, I bought pie, figuratively speaking of course! And not just any pie: Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Pie!
Original Nilla Wafer Banana Pudding
I was just a kid the first time I had the Original Nilla Wafer Banana Pudding. For a while, every year, my folks would rent a cabin on Big Spirit Lake in Iowa, sometimes with my cousins. Maybe I was five, maybe six, and this was an old green, peeling paint kind cabin, the front porch converted to bunk beds, right on the lake. The last time I was in Spirit Lake it was still there, decades later.
Libby’s New Fashioned Pumpkin Pie
Some of you might know, while others of you might not have a clue until you’re ready to bake your Pumpkin Pie (probably the evening before Thanksgiving) that Libby’s changed their pumpkin pie recipe (yes, the one from the back of the can) this fall (2019.) It’s the first time there has been a change on the can since the original Libby’s Famous Pumpkin Pie was put on the can in 1950. Follow the link if you’re looking for the original, but here on this post, I’m reviewing Libby’s New Fashioned Pumpkin Pie.

Simon Pearce Quechee Quiche
We are having “Arctic Chill.” It got ccccold last night and right now it’s minus 11. And I have no right to complain because I live in Minnesota, but we’ve been so spoiled this year it’s a shock. We Minnesotans know that a real Arctic Chill can be 34 to 35 below, so there’s that. Maybe we’re actually lucky. But today I feel particularly lucky because I don’t have to go anywhere and I have a piece of Simon Pearce Quechee Quiche I’m going to have for breakfast!
