Two rival Minnesota bars, Matt’s and the 5-8 Tavern have been making these for decades, but recently The Juicy Lucy – Ultimate Cheese Stuffed Burger has gone all gourmet and with good reason. There’s something about a great crusty burger with an ooey, gooey, cheesy filling that just puts all other cheeseburgers to shame.

I watched an episode of Diner’s Drive-Ins & Dives the other day, Land to Sea and they featured the Black Pelican Oceanfront Cafe in Kittyhawk, North Carolina. I was wowed by the Black Pelican Citrus Rosemary Brined Chicken with a Saute of Vegetables, and I couldn’t get it off my mind. Of course, I looked for the recipe and couldn’t help be bummed that it wasn’t one of the recipes given on the DDD website.

Puerco Con Chile Verde – Pork Green Chili Stew with Tomatillos
I’m a bit at a loss as to how to describe Puerco Con Chile Verde! Tender chunks of braised pork in a slightly spicy, slightly smoky green tomatillo sauce is descriptive but doesn’t quite give justice. Guisado de Puerco con Tomatillos or Carne de Puerco en Salsa Verde rolls off the tongue with a bit more flair.
