My folks love their nearby “Mongolian” Barbecue place, HuHot. They’re wild about it and so am I…but the cost makes me crazy, especially for what we get – which is delicious, no doubt, but is basically (for them) a big bowl of noodles with about an ounce of meat and for me mostly veggies. Could I do better at home? You tell me…
Honey Sesame Chicken in the Instant Pot
This Honey Sesame Chicken in the Instant Pot has saved me over and over in the last few months. When the hunger-crazed octogenarians (my folks) begin circling around 5:00 p.m. like sharks and the day’s been too hectic for anything else, I think Honey Sesame Chicken. Simple Steak lo Mein
Since I’ve been helping out the folks, I’ve been “forced” to step up and find creative ways to use up extra steak. This time, it’s Simple Steak Lo Mein and it HAS to be my best “secondary” steak dish, ever. Hands down.
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
I love love love fall. It’s my favorite season. I love the cool crisp air, and the fall colors and the golden fields and bare branches contrasting against the cool skies. And I love fall flavors and food that has. Lots of taste, lots of comfort. Roasted Red Pepper Hummus qualifies on both counts.
Grilled Vegetables with Tonkatsu Sauce
Good news! I was just outside and there was a cool wind! By cooler, I mean cool (85 degrees F) compared to what we’ve had, in the high 90s and low hundreds. I think that nasty old heat dome is passing by! I wanted to throw up my arms and dance. And maybe I did, just a little. 🙂 I was like Rose in The Titanic. Well, older, chunkier, and without Leonardo DiCaprio…or the ship. Ok, so I was just an old lady smiling into the breeze. 🙂
