Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

I always love to make a Slow Cooker Pulled Pork. It’s so easy and there’s nothing like a set it and forget it recipe. Of course, it takes a bit of time, but that’s pretty much time while you’re doing whatever you have to do. And then there is that tantalizing aroma filling your kitchen, driving you nuts, until the moment you open that slow cooker to this glorious pork and snitch that first bite before you even take it out. Don’t you tell me that’s just me!! I know you do it, too. Or maybe it IS just me?

Did this really come from a slow cooker? Yeah, I went “fancy” but it’s just as good on paper plates! Pride of Deer Camp BBQ sauce on the left.

Denver Green Chili

Denver Green Chili is a regional specialty found along the Colorado Front Range, and this is my family recipe. Rich and silky, just thick enough to smother a burrito and gently pool, it has the right amount of heat. Enough to catch your interest, but not enough to cause any true distress.

Denver Green Chili – it makes a good-sized pot, perfect to spin in different ways.

Hands down, one of our favorite family recipes, Southwestern dish, Mexican Shredded Pork or Beef has it all. Flavor, as much or as little heat as you want, and a lot of versatility. Make Tacos, Tostadas, or Burritos, just to get started. Best of all, Mexican Shredded Pork or Beef is super easy; braise it in the oven or use the slow cooker.

I used to have such “food envy” about Mexican Chorizo. See, I couldn’t buy it where I lived. So sad, huh? And when it started becoming available, it was super pricey and usually frozen. So I learned to whip up my own Homemade Chorizo. Homemade Chorizo is quick and easy to make at home and problem solved!
