When I first started writing about food, it was always my intention to highlight ingredients, how to shop, compare prices, choose them, store them as well as use them. And I did make a stab at that, years ago, under “Ingredients” in my menu. So the first post in this series is What To Know About Beets.
Grandma’s Refrigerator Pickled Beets
My Grandma’s Refrigerator Pickled Beets are a simple, classic pickled beet that makes just enough to fill a jar or two, depending on the size of the jar. Because Grandma’s Refrigerator Pickled Beets are so easy, you can just knock them out when you have a few minutes and there’s no compelling reason to make a bunch. You can pretty much just have them whenever you want them, especially these days when beets are available all year ’round.
The Beet Goes on Salad
The Beet Goes on Salad is one of my absolute favorites! As a matter of fact, most any salad with beets ranks high on my list and as far as I’m concerned, this is the highest. If you’re here, maybe you’re a beet lover, too. Just know you’ll find several beet salads on my site as well as other beet-related recipes!
