If you follow me (and if you don’t, I’d love it if you do, see the right sidebar) you know I made Boston Sausage & Pepper Grinders right before Superbowl 2019. See the New England Patriots were playing the Los Angeles Rams (and the Patriots won) and I thought those “grinders” (that’s just the local name for sandwiches) would be perfect for the Superbowl or any game day, or really anytime! What’s not perfect? Leftovers. Leftover link sausages? They’re kinda sad. So I’ve refashioned them into Orzo with Sausage & Peppers.
I’m a huge fan of Lo Mein so when a friend mentioned she saw a recipe for Instant Pot Lo Mein, I was wowed. Could I make a Fast Fresh Instant Pot Lo Mein? One that’s as good or even better than my skillet versions? Maybe even better than takeout? The answer’s “Yes!” As in yes, yes, yes, pluheese! I have seen so many articles and posts about Yaka Mein, ever since Anthony Bourdain featured Miss Linda Green on his show, “No Reservations.” But Yaka Mein first came on my radar in this article from Go Nola. I knew I just had to taste Yaka Mein and I knew the only way that was going to happen is if I made it myself. So here is my Instant Pot Yaka Mein. (Stovetop directions included, too.)

Can a person have too many pasta recipes? Possibly, especially if you’re on a budget. It’s almost too easy to turn to pasta dishes, so when I do make one, I try to make it the best! You’ll love this warm and comforting dish loaded with fresh mozzarella, Italian sausage and for a healthier twist, ground chicken or turkey. Use ground beef if you’d rather, though.
Goulash is an old American standby dish from pantry ingredients. Wikipedia notes Goulash celebrated its 100th birthday last year, being published in cookbooks as early as 1914. Simple, tasty, cheap and filling, Goulash is familiar to generations of Americans. Talk about comfort food!
I was at a picnic not too long ago and someone had brought this old-fashioned salad along. You wouldn’t believe how fast it went. I’m a huge fan of is a Bolognese. Deep, rich, winey, this meat-based sauce is out of this world fantastic. It’s just insanely good. But what I’m def’ not a fan of is babysitting Bolognese on the stove top, stirring often as it reduces. While Bolognese is made from the simplest of ingredients, it needs to simmer just about forever, lovingly tended, and ain’t nobody got time for that. The answer? Slow Cooker Bolognese.
One of my favorite recipes is really a “non” recipe. Practically too simple, really, to even be written down! But I still want to share my recipe for Pan Roasted Cherry Tomatoes because they are one of my favorite sides. And they’re not only delicious, they take about 10 minutes to make.
