So a friend of mine called yesterday and asked about Broccoli Salad. Yep. Broccoli Salad. You know it, that Crazy Broccoli Salad that’s been around forever, kind of a mainstay for summer potlucks and picnics. It was my Mom who first gave me the recipe back in the 70s and I’ve been making it ever since.
Healthier Energy Bars
Unfortunately, many are full of heavily processed ingredients. A black mark in my book. That they’re expensive is a double damn. That so many present as healthy when they’re way over the top in calories? Well, that’s a triple damn! Why not just have a piece of cake and be done with it!!
Health Nut Avocado Sandwiches
Way back in the late 70’s I fell in love and lived in the quaint little town in the Colorado Rockies, Georgetown. Young and single with a new adventure every day, I really did have the time of my life. Hiking, backpacking and biking all summer, skiing all winter, I could pretty much eat anything I wanted, and I often wanted these delicious sandwiches! Healthy, fresh, filling and best of all, cheap!
Old Fashioned Poppy Seed or Cole Slaw Dressing
This is a recipe my mom handed to me. It’s fabulous, and a small tweak takes it from a beautiful Poppy Seed Salad Dressing to a more savory Vinegar Coleslaw Dressing. That’s why the mash-up name is Old Fashioned Poppy Seed or Cole Slaw Dressing.
Nut & Seed Crackers
These lovely little crackers first came onto my radar from Elaine at Foodbod. While I do eat some grains and pasta, I’m always trying to limit those, and Elaine has been an inspiration to me. I suppose I could have just posted a link to her crackers, but that would just be a bit too easy, and I do like to tell a story! And I selfishly wanted them here on my blog so I wouldn’t have to look them up!
