I’ve never eaten at the famed Magnolia Grill in Durham, North Carolina. I heard of it only through recipes that had popped up in food magazines here and there. That’s where I got the recipe, years ago, for Balsamic Bacon Vinaigrette.
Enchiladas con Carne
Those of you who know me know I’m kind of a sucker for Mexican food. Or Southwestern. Or Tex-Mex. When I saw these old-school Tex-Mex-type enchiladas pop up in an email from the New York Times, I was all over it. These are Enchiladas con Carne from El Real Tex-Mex in Houston.
Takeout Style Green Beans
Just in case you look at these pictures and think I’m nuts, these green beans, sautéed till slightly blistered, then tossed with soy, honey and garlic stole the show the other night at dinner.
Thai Slaw with Peanut Dressing
In the summer heat (and it has been so hot & so humid, here) I can hardly get enough cool, crunchy salads. Here’s a fantastic crunchy little salad with a little bit of a Thai twist. That this is more American Thai than Thai doesn’t detract from the utter deliciousness.
