These days, flank steak, which back in the day used to be so inexpensive can be over the top pricey! But every once in awhile there’s a great sale. This year I picked one up during the Super Bowl Sales and I knew just what I wanted to do with that lovely! I wanted to make Stuffed Flank Steak with Wine Sauce. I thought it would be a beautiful way to showcase that steak and perfect for a special occasion, maybe Valentine’s Day?
Instant Pot Ropa Vieja
I have kind of a thing for Ropa Vieja and if you’re here, maybe you do, too. I already have a recipe on my site for a long-simmered, Slow Cooker Classic Cuban Ropa Vieja, long a family fave, but these days, I’m all about the Instant Pot…and so I wondered if an Instant Pot Ropa Vieja would be just as good. Verdict: Yup, yup, yup! It’s fabulous.
Lighter Mongolian Beef
When I decided to make my Lighter Mongolian Beef, I wanted to look a little into the history of Mongolian Beef. I knew it wasn’t an authentic “Mongolian” dish, but it seemsĀ Mongolian Beef was created in Taiwan, so that’s a twist!
Teriyaki Marinated Steak – London Broil
When it comes to summer grilling, there’s one recipe that’s stood the test of time, been around forever and has kind of a cult following, even today. It’s Teriyaki Marinated Steak. You might just know it as London Broil. And it IS an American classic in spite of the name London Broil and that scrumptious Asiany marinade. More on that, below. I know I’m not alone in this memory, when way back in the 70s, on a pretty regular basis, my Mom would marinate up this Teriyaki Steak and Dad would cook it up outside on the grill.
Grilled Steak with Honey Chipotle Glaze
Here in the Frugal household, we don’t eat a lot of steaks; well, duh, that’s because we’re frugal!! But when a real craving hits, or maybe there’s a special occasion, especially in the summer, that’s when I pull out my Grilled Steak with Honey Chipotle Glaze. It never fails to impress!
