So last night I posted my Old School Cheesecake Pie at 9:00 during the middle of the Superbowl. Honestly, I hit publish instead of save! In my defense, the half time show was over and my attention span was stretched to the limit. Anyway, here’s the sweet little recipe for the Easy Fresh Blackberry Sauce that I served with that cheesecake!
There are sometimes you just want a nice dessert for the family, something classic and not too over the top. That’s when I think about this Old School Cheesecake Pie. While it might lack some of the show-stopping looks of a big springform pan cheesecake, it has all the flavor of the classic cheesecake. It’s just smaller; it’s just enough!
Did you know that National Pie Day is January 23rd? Yep, yesterday. Well, better late than never. I’m interrupting my normally scheduled programming (as if I have one beyond trying to give you one fun main dish every week) to post this Easy Classic Chess Pie. Honestly, I made it around Thanksgiving, or was it Christmas? But that doesn’t matter because this pie is excellent at any time of the year.
First of all, Merry Christmas!! If ever you need a last-minute Christmassy treat, maybe something to put out for Santa, keep this five-ingredient no bake Easy Peppermint Oreo Bark in mind. It’s fast, it’s fabulous and great not just for Santa, but for gifting, too. If it’s too late for this year, pin this for next. It’s too good to miss out on.
I remember one year before my Christmas baking, I just had it in my head that I had to have Crystallized Candied Ginger for a cake I was baking. That was back in the ’90s and it had become kind of a trendy ingredient, except where I lived! I couldn’t find it. Now it’s available in many stores or online, but Homemade Crystallized Candied Ginger is super easy to make at home; it just takes a bit of ginger, a bit of sugar and a bit of time.
