Well, it seems I’ve just skipped through fall and Thanksgiving and jumped right into Christmas now that it’s just about mid-December! But is there a better way to celebrate the season than an absolutely decadent, divine Homemade Eggnog? Especially if it’s a Rich & Creamy Eggnog – and one that’s safe, at that!

German Baked Apples Bratapfel
German Baked Apples Bratapfel takes me right back to childhood! I don’t think at the time anyone thought of them as being particularly “German.” They were, like so many recipes that were ubiquitous to the Midwest, just a part of small-town, down-home cooking. Baked apples appeared a lot-at our table for dessert.

Apple Butter Barbecue Sauce
I’m kind of getting on a little apple kick here in late May. It’s because I posted the recipe out for my Cider Glazed Ribs so I just had to put out the recipe for this Apple Butter Barbecue Sauce to complement them. And to tell the truth, I have a slaw coming up with apples in it, too. That’s my Tangy Apple Cabbage Slaw.

Cider & Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
I think these Cider & Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms are going to be my new signature app. There’re scrumptious little bites that are going to be a hit as an hors-d’oeuvre at a cocktail party, a starter for a family feast (especially Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years) or snack on game day.

Quick Old-Fashioned Pear Cake
When I was a child way back when there were dinosaurs, we used to have something we called “snack cake.” They were always small, simple cakes, and always unfrosted. They were the kind of cake that might be tossed out for after school snacks, sturdy enough to pick up and eat and perfect on their own with no embellishment. That’s what this Quick Old-Fashioned Pear Cake reminds me of.
