Sometimes I just crave the flavors of Naw’lins. Cajun, Creole, it doesn’t matter. And with Mardi Gras just around the corner I just had to make Shrimp Etouffee.

Roasted Red Pepper & Shrimp Risotto
If you’re watching your budget, chances are you’re not eating a lot of seafood, but when a holiday like Valentine’s comes around, you’re probably going to want something a little special. Maybe something like this Roasted Red Pepper & Shrimp Risotto.

Shrimp & Grits with a Cajun Gastrique
Even if you’ve had Shrimp & Grits before, you’ve probably never had any like these. Deeply spiced, earthy shrimp, garlic and peppers with bacon – the dish is fantastic on its own – but this has a twist – it’s punctuated by a Cajun Gastrique.

Shrimp Po’ Boys
Tyler Florence…my hero! I used his basic recipe for Po’ Boys – with a few deletions and additions, and it is amazing! His Creole sauce is so good, my son went nuts over it. While these may look like a basic Po’ Boy, I promise you, they are anything but. I’ve had them in many different areas of the country and these beat out every restaurant version.

Curried Shrimp Spread
This Curried Shrimp Spread was always a “food day” favorite where I worked. I was quick to nab the recipe, and of course careful to follow food day etiquette, meaning if you are lucky enough to be a recipient of a recipe, you don’t upstage the person that gave it to you and make the same recipe for your food day contribution.
