Instant Pot Refried Beans

Instant Pot Refried Beans

One of my favorite things to make in my Instant Pot has to be beans and bean-based dishes, and Instant Pot Refried Beans are absolutely no exception. They turn out beautifully and they’re drop-dead simple. Toss your beans in the pot with an onion, an herb or two, a little spice if you like, and go & do whatever it is you’re doing. There’s no babysitting and there are no worries about precise timing or being johnny on the spot at the end of the cooking period.

Freezer Friendly Burritos

Freezer Friendly Burritos

Bean burritos once saved my life. Seriously. When I broke my foot, the docs sent me home thinking it was a sprain. What a mess that was – my back went out from using the crutches. I couldn’t stand up, each movement was agony and I spent several days crawling around the house. I happened to have a few groceries I hadn’t put away on the table and I was able to cobble together some bean burritos. They weren’t as well put together as these Freezer Friendly Burritos, heck, I couldn’t even warm them up, but as they say, “Hunger is the best sauce!”

Canned Refried Beans Restaurant Style

Refried beans are so often misunderstood – unless you’ve had great ones, preferably made homemade from dried pintos, OG style. Face it, though, we don’t all have the time to make a from scratch version, heck sometimes we don’t have much more time than it takes to heat up a can of refried beans as a quick side for just about anything Mexican or Southwestern. Here’s my “top-secret method” to take any old can of refried beans and doctor it up into creamy goodness: Canned Refried Beans Restaurant Style. And it takes just minutes.
