I saw a comment once on another site from someone that said she was tired of food bloggers squealing about their recipes. I’m guilty, I know. Coz when I make something really good, especially if it’s really really good, I can’t contain my excitement. And if it has bacon? Well that’s worth a squeal or two, right? And these Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites are def squealable. If that’s not a word. It is now, lol!

Doctoring Canned Baked Beans
Do you have your top secret Ninja ways to make plain old canned baked beans taste more like homemade? I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve, depending on what kind of beans I want. Most of the time when I’m Doctoring Canned Baked Beans, I’m looking for kind of delish New England style, a bit zippy, a little sweet and super flavorful and that’s what these are.

Best Bacon Waffles
There are a lot of “holidays” in the Spring, but ya wanna know what one of my faves is? Waffle Day. It’s on March 25th but I celebrated it this year, early, with these glorious, crispy and fluffy Best Bacon Waffles! And then I slathered them with my Bacon Pecan Syrup (although I left the pecans out) and had my own little celebration. This is an excellent waffle recipe, btw, without the bacon, too. I like it even more than the Alton Brown’s Really Good Waffles that are already on my site.

Simon Pearce Quechee Quiche
We are having “Arctic Chill.” It got ccccold last night and right now it’s minus 11. And I have no right to complain because I live in Minnesota, but we’ve been so spoiled this year it’s a shock. We Minnesotans know that a real Arctic Chill can be 34 to 35 below, so there’s that. Maybe we’re actually lucky. But today I feel particularly lucky because I don’t have to go anywhere and I have a piece of Simon Pearce Quechee Quiche I’m going to have for breakfast!

Copycat Outback Steakhouse Salad
So Happy New Year’s, everyone! I can’t believe it’s New Year’s Eve, already! So what do you do for New Year’s Eve? Me, I’m kind of an old curmudgeon. I mean back in the day I’d go out with the girls but these days I’m usually perfectly happy to stay in, stay warm & safe and maybe stay up till midnight. Especially if we have a wonderful dinner, preferably steak and this Copycat Outback Steakhouse Salad.
