I’m guessing the majority of people I know haven’t ever had the pleasure of being introduced to Beef Rendang – Indonesian Curry, I’m not even sure how it is that I started making Rendang. It seems kind of unlikely that back in the day, basically pre Internet & pre Food Network, this small Midwestern family would fall head over heels with this spicy curry beef dish that’s the national dish (and national treasure) of many countries, not just Indonesia.
Beef Chow Fun – Gon Chow Ngau Ho
Every now and then I have to break out with an Asian dish. I don’t know what it is, but I’ll just be trying to do my thing, following my weekly menu plan and something will “spark me.” That’s how I think of it when I get one of these inspiration/craving kind of things! I see the bottle of soy sauce, maybe there was a commercial on tv or a pic in a magazine, or maybe I just drove by an Asian restaurant…honestly, it doesn’t take much to get me to want to make something, and that’s why I made Beef Chow Fun – Gon Chow Ngau Ho.
Shaking Beef – Bò Lúc Lắc
Do you ever make a meal you’re so wild crazy about that you polish it all off regardless of how many servings it’s supposed to be? Well, that happened when I made Shaking Beef – Bò Lúc Lắc not too long ago. In my defense my son was over, so he helped out a lot with the eating. But still, we just couldn’t leave it be!
Fast Fresh Instant Pot Lo Mein
I’m a huge fan of Lo Mein so when a friend mentioned she saw a recipe for Instant Pot Lo Mein, I was wowed. Could I make a Fast Fresh Instant Pot Lo Mein? One that’s as good or even better than my skillet versions? Maybe even better than takeout? The answer’s “Yes!” As in yes, yes, yes, pluheese! If you love Lo Mein, this Instant Pot version will rock your world.
Lighter Mongolian Beef
When I decided to make my Lighter Mongolian Beef, I wanted to look a little into the history of Mongolian Beef. I knew it wasn’t an authentic “Mongolian” dish, but it seems Mongolian Beef was created in Taiwan, so that’s a twist!
