I don’t think there’s any time of year that isn’t “right” for a fresh, quick stir fry, but I gotta admit I love making them especially in the summer! The thing is, I’m not always into measuring out a lot of ingredients for a sauce and I’m not that thrilled about some of the bottled or packets sauces at the store or the frozen options. They’re always quick and easy but it’s not a biggie to mix up your own “Universal” All Purpose Stir Fry Sauce at home.
Once summer comes I don’t think of food in the same way, and this year is no exception. Maybe this year, 2020 is the year more of us will be thinking about food a lot differently. I’m finding myself relaxing the rules, moving more and more away from the idea of “square meals” and trying to have more fun. There’s not much that’s more fun than these Easy Honey Garlic Chicken Wings.
Meatloaf is a huge fave of my folks (my fave octogenarians, I call them) and especially when fall rolls around. But it always seems like there are two issues with meatloaf. The first? Even though we have an absolute fave, this Cook’s Illustrated Meatloaf, there’s no doubt sometimes you need a change-up from the classic! This Mexican Meatloaf with Honey Chipotle Glaze is a def upgrade…still familiar, still meatloaf, but popping with fun flavor!
Here in the Frugal household, we don’t eat a lot of steaks; well, duh, that’s because we’re frugal!! But when a real craving hits or maybe thee’s a special occasion, especially in the summer, that’s when I pull out my Grilled Steak with Honey Chipotle Glaze. It never fails to impress! By the way, please forgive the pics of my steak! I took pics, then we ate and when I looked at them after they are a little “psycho”delic! Of course, by then the steak was long gone!
