I seem to be on a bit of a lemon kick, lately. To be more specific, a frozen lemon dessert kick. I recently posted a down-home family fave, a Frozen Lemonade Pie, and now I’m posting this more sophisticated Frozen Lemon Meringue Cake.

Today, long after she passed, I found this little oddity of a recipe, Frozen Lemonade Pie, in my Mom’s recipe box. My Aunt Mary’s name was on the card. I held that card, looking at the ingredients, puzzled (they are a little strange), and the memories started coming back.

Temperatures are soaring here in Minnesota. Some summers are so cool I barely wear shorts, but today I actually had to put on the air – and when that happens, you better believe, you betcha, that I’m looking for cool things to eat like these Lemon Buttermilk Popsicles (and ways to keep the oven off!)
