German Baked Apples Bratapfel takes me right back to childhood! I don’t think at the time anyone thought of them as being particularly “German.” They were, like so many recipes that were ubiquitous to the Midwest, just a part of small-town, down-home cooking. Baked apples appeared a lot-at our table for dessert.
Well, I’m still in Atlanta, still waiting for my daughter’s wedding and getting all the treatment. A mani/pedi, a massage, cheese and wine. Directions on how to drive and park. (Kids, ugh.) Lemme tell ya, though, this is the life. These Cider Glazed Ribs I made a while back are all but a whisper of a memory, now, but I think they’d be fabulous on Memorial Day Weekend.
I think these Cider & Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms are going to be my new signature app. There’re scrumptious little bites that are going to be a hit as an hors-d’oeuvre at a cocktail party, a starter for a family feast (especially Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years) or snack on game day.
Well, as you can see, I’m still in Halloween Party mode and as Halloween gets closer & closer, my treats are getting easier, faster and more doable! But they’re still every bit as delish and fun! Take these very fun Caramel Apple Pie Jello Shots, for instance…
I really am not ready for summer to end – but I was a little consoled with this dish, Creamy Apple & Cider Pork Chops. Ya gotta love a recipe that tastes divine, looks great and is perfect for company but quick & easy enough to pull off on any old weeknight for family dinner! And it’s even better when it’s a dinner that’s so good you’ll want to lick your plate clean!
