Build a Better Berry Smoothie

You know what I love? Smoothies. And probably you do, too? But what I don’t love? Putzing with them. Adding a bit of this or that, trying to get them thick and luscious but still sippable through a straw.

And then I end up with a huge smoothie coz I just keep adding more and more. Do you do this, or is it only me? I don’t have the patience to fiddle, so now I have a “recipe.” I think it’s Cook’s Illustrated. Maybe America’s Test Kitchen?

With the Better Berry Smoothie, the fruit only has to be frozen for 10 minutes, which is perfect for the oh, so ever more forgetting me. I swear I’ve finely honed forgetfulness into a lifestyle these days.

So I love this little formula. One banana to add the lusciousness, then whatever kind of berries you like and whatever dairy you have on hand.

Speaking of berries, they can be pricey little things. They’re more readily available year round, now, and always seem to rotate in and out of sale, so don’t pay full price. And keep a beg of frozen berries in the freezer for things like smoothies. Stock up when they’re on sale, and they’re usually at the lowest right after they’re in season.
